Week Nine - Branding Part 1

Hi all,

I hope you were able to get some good takeaways from yesterday’s first session on Branding. Let us know if you have any questions about it.

Here is the info from our Can-Do Camp alumni visitors:

Adam Castle - Green Man Gardening

David Blair - Yup Syrups (transitioning from Blair Legacy Syrups)

Attachments:

  • Branding Part 1 Presentation coming soon!

Homework:

  • The “Who am I?” branding activity you did with Jarrett is the assignment to move forward on the Progress Map. Just take a pic of what you wrote down and send it my way for credit. (If you missed the session, you should be able to find the activity in the presentation.)

Special Opportunity:

We are partnering with Southwest Michigan First on a project to help small businesses get their products & services up on their Shop Local website. You’ll need to have inventory (or be completely ready to deliver your service) in order to sell on the website. This opportunity is free right now, but might have payment attached to it later, so it’s a good time to get involved. As part of this partnership, we are organizing a photo shoot with a professional photographer for business owners to get professional images of their products to use on the Shop Local website (his site features his architecture work, but he is well-versed in food photography and headshots, as well). In addition to use on the website, you’ll be able to use the pictures in other places (your own website, marketing, etc.) The cost to you will be determined soon, but it will be VERY affordable for what you’ll get out of it.

Things you can expect as part of this opportunity:

  • Your product/service featured on the Shop Local website

  • 3-5 professional images of your product/service

  • Kitchen rental availability if you want to make a fresh food product for the shoot

  • A set amount of time with the photographer to focus on your product/service

  • An extremely good deal on professional photography services for your business

Reminders:

We have three weeks left of Can-Do Camp! Time to get on the following things:

  • Scheduling your second Business Boost meeting before Camp ends on 5/18

  • Preparing your pitch for our final session on 5/18

  • Food Businesses - Study for the ServSafe exam next Thursday, 5/7

See you Monday!
